This year, JAM continued its free, fun art projects with the Romney Marsh Community Hub, bringing creativity, new skills and friendship to people across the Marsh, and welcoming anyone over 50 (of any ability), to get involved.
In the spring, inspirational artist Victoria Morris led a series of weekly sessions in mixed media and embroidery. Combining threads, yarns, handmade recycled paper, beads, maps and postcards, the participants created captivating collages, each one mounted in an embroidery hoop and telling a personal story, written in their own words beside the work.
Then, by popular demand, award-winning visual artist Jillian Bain Christie introduced the group to lino-cut and the relief printing process. Inspired by their own images, the participants produced prints that graphic and very detailed.
This exhibition brings both projects together. Come and discover the work, and the people and stories behind every piece.
