Overview
JAM’s Sixth Form Futures Development programme supports young people to explore creative career pathways, build confidence and develop skills that prepare them for employment or further education. Delivered in collaboration with The Marsh Academy, the programme responds directly to the needs of students in a rural area where access to creative industry insight and experience can be limited.
How It Works
The programme offers a structured mix of presentations, interview preparation and hands-on work experience, giving students practical insight into professional creative environments. By broadening skills, experience and ambition, the programme enhances CVs and supports progression into employment or further study within the UK’s £125bn creative industries.
Work Experience in Practice
Through JAM’s work experience opportunities, students gain real-world exposure to sound, production, performance and creative teamwork, thus building confidence and helping them imagine viable futures in the arts.
“JAM’s work experience was brilliant. I learned so much about sound. It made me feel like I could actually do this as a career. It’s honestly given me so much confidence.”
School Partnership
The collaboration with The Marsh Academy ensures the programme aligns with students’ educational journeys and supports wider personal development.
“Partnering with JAM offers our students invaluable personal and work experience that cultivates essential skills such as teamwork, leadership and problem-solving, while also providing career-specific insights, as our students become the next generation to carry the arts into the future.” Assistant Principal, Marsh Academy
