Romney Marsh Community Hub, then the Marsh Academy Leisure Centre

A free four week collage project with local professional collage artist Daniel Lehan, exploring the textures, surfaces and play of light on the seascape around Hub on the Beach at Greatstone.

With demonstrations from Daniel, participants explored a variety of collage techniques including multi colour, single colour, and shaped or 3D collage. The group went outside the Hub to look at and be inspired by the landscape, and that fed the collages they made.

Participants could make one piece a week or carry a single work from session to session, try different techniques, or make a collage jointly with someone else. Through making different types of collage, they explored the variety and effect of each technique.

Open to anyone aged 50 and over, with no previous knowledge or experience required, just an eagerness to learn a new skill or develop an existing one. All materials were supplied. The finished images were shown as two group exhibitions, at the Romney Marsh Community Hub and then at the Marsh Academy Leisure Centre.
