Hythe based ceramicist Penny Graham, who brings a wealth of experience, led JAM's free four week course in ceramics at Hub on the Beach. Places were quickly snapped up.

The artists discovered how supremely relaxing and satisfying hand building with clay can be. Over the weeks they experimented with simple biscuit glaze and colours, with results ranging from delightfully rustic to subtly sophisticated depending on experience, patience and preference. Each week brought charming pots, chubby Marsh sheep, and beautiful angels and Christmas decorations.

What might seem to be very simple pieces in the exhibition were more complex than you would think, and so not without challenge.

The work was shown at the Romney Marsh Community Hub and then transferred to the Marsh Academy Leisure Centre.
