The final event of JAM on the Marsh and the Hythe Festival will be a summary of both festivals.

Throughout JAM on the Marsh, Kate Walters will create an ever-evolving exhibition based on the concerts and venues used in the festival.  The first time that we will see this completed work of art will be on this final day of JAM on the Marsh!

As Kate responds to the music, so the wonderful Welsh poet, Grahame Davies will respond to Kate pictures, creating a series of new poems.  Many of the festival audience will know Grahame following his magnificent libretto for Voices of Vimy, last year’s Festival Commission, premiered by the BBC Singers in New Romney, and broadcast on BBC Radio 3 this February.

This final event of the 2018 festival will start with Grahame reciting his new work, based on Kate’s pictures and the music performed.  He will perform these surrounded by Kate’s completed exhibition.

Following Grahame’s recital, Kate will join him in an open, led discussion about the way that they create their exquisite work.  This will be an exploration of the creative process, with plenty of opportunity for the audience to join in and ask questions.  This is an extraordinary opportunity for the audience to interact with two such brilliant minds!
