Keith Roberts - Submitted 2006
Keith Roberts was born in Kent, and while largely self-taught as a composer, had a thorough musical education as a chorister at Westminster Cathedral and choral scholar at King's College, Cambridge. He now pursues a multi-faceted musical career as a countertenor, choral conductor, teacher, arranger and composer. Roberts has specialised mostly in choral music, with works performed at home and abroad, on radio broadcasts and recordings. Recent commissions include carols for the Leicestershire Chorale and Ranby House School, and Antiphony for the Ealing Clarinet Choir and Ensemble. He is also a prolific arranger for choirs of anything from carols to popular songs to Johann Strauss waltzes, and sings with many of London's most distinguished choirs, including Polyphony and Exaudi.
Roberts sees involvement with JAM as an exciting opportunity to have his music performed professionally to a wider audience, and to develop as a composer.
