Jonathan Pitkin - Submitted 2004
Born in Dublin in 1978, Jonathan Pitkin was brought up in Edinburgh. He studied at Christ Church, Oxford and at the Royal Academy of Music under Christopher Brown, as well as spending a term at the Paris Conservatoire. His music has been performed at major venues across the UK, including the Royal Festival Hall and the Huddersfield and Spitalfields Festivals, and he has collaborated in workshops and performances with musicians such as Martyn Brabbins, Jane Manning, the BBC Singers, the choir of Christ Church Cathedral, Oxford, and members of the Philharmonia and the London Sinfonietta.
Major projects for 2004 include the first performance and broadcast of his orchestral piece Borrowed Time by the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra in March.
