Timothy Jackson - Commissioned 2002
Timothy Jackson was born in Preston and studied horn and composition at the Royal Academy of Music. He continued his studies at the University of Manchester and the Royal Northern College of Music. He is now a member of the Orchestra of the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden. As a composer and arranger, Tim has received commissions from the John Armitage Memorial, the Academy of St Martin in the Fields, British Telecom, the Halle Orchestra, and the Royal Ballet. His works have been performed in venues including the Amsterdam Concertgebouw, the Hollywood Bowl, the Sydney Opera House, the Bridgewater Hall, the Royal Albert Hall and St David's Hall. His music has been recorded by Chandos, Intim, Meridian and Polygram and broadcast on national radio in countries including Australia, Belgium, the UK, Canada, France and Switzerland. Tim is Composer in Association with Onyx Brass and he is also a founder panel member and trustee of the John Armitage Memorial.
